    Just a
general
thought to those who think they are not getting much out of the
EOC.  Consider that Skip and Caroline are working
for not much if anything at all and the effort necessary to accumulate the data just to put the monthly magazine together is a lot of
trouble and the postage required is considerable.  Whoever is willing to take it over and feel they can do a better job should step up
to the plate.  I work for a non profit activity who has about 180,000 volunteers and only about 5 paid personnel.  The volunteers pay all
funds necessary to defray the cost of the paid personnel and costs of operation and distribution.  We do that so all donations go toward the
intended purpose of the donations. My duties are to receive donations and send acknowlegements and multitude
letters and cards to others.  At times the donors act as if we are all overpaid personnnel and make demands that are contridictory to why they
make donations.  So, the purpose of this diatribe is, give the operators of EOC some credit and thanks,  I extend my appreciation to the gentleman
Tom Laird-McConnell  who gives of his time and money to provide what is necessary to operate this forum.  TOM thanks you soooooo much.
Skip and Caroline, Thank you for your efforts.

Lee,

The TECH and FLYIN lists are not affiliated with the Ercoupe Owners Club.  They are sponsored by an individual, Tom Laird-McConnell, who donates the server capacity, software and his time to maintain them.

Tom also hosts the EOC website http://ercoupe.org at no cost to the EOC except for their ownership of the domain.

When the lists and website were created, Tom was an active Coupe owner.  Since then, he’s sold his Coupe and is continuing to host us just because he’s a really nice guy.  That’s especially so when power surges fried his router a couple of times in the last year.  But he got us up again.  (Thanks, Tom.)

Indeed, a lot of list members are not members of the EOC though I’d strongly encourage any current or prospective Coupe owner to join the EOC.

I’d agree that it’d be very nice if the EOC could find a way to host a parts registry website, perhaps a WIKI type website editable by anyone.  But the EOC has only two staff people, Skip and Caroline, and neither is a computer programmer or computer whiz.

Volunteers encouraged!

--to the net--
Most newsletters reflect the type of input it receives, and are at the mercy of those contributing to it.  Evidently, EOC is are not receiving articles of a technical nature or things that we discuss every day on the net, or they would be printing them .( No room for all of them).  If, in your opinion, EOC is not striking a balance of ( Personal/ Technical) articles,  Send Carolyn an article on  your passion, and  they WILL print it, and take one step in striking a happy balance of views.
