My point (IIRC, it was a few days ago) is that if your elevator travel is set to more than factory, you can get further into the stall than the test pilots did and ultimately start to spin. Without independent rudder control it may be unrecoverable.

A big portion of the "spin-proof" technology was limiting the depth of the stall.
