The recent posts regarding rigging for the split
elevator made me wonder if it is possible to convert the earlier straight
elevator to the split style. Unfortunately I do not know of a local aircraft
with the 'E' tail, so I have no way to visually compare one against the other.
Perhaps one of you could let me know if it is possible, and if there are
drawings available to show the dimensions and construction. I know I could
probably buy a good used split type, but prefer to use what I have, if possible.
The plane is laid up for other work, so now would be a good time to do
it.
