A lot depends on your particular situation. What in particular is the
problem? Do you need new pistons? Is it just valve related? How much time
on the rest of the engine? Do the cylinders need to be bored? How many
total hours are on the head castings?

My advice at overhaul time is if the cylinders are of unknown total time or
they have been through 2 (or more) overhaul cycles, scrap them.

If the rest of the engine is high time, say 1200 or more hours or 10 or more
years, consider either the minimum cylinder field repairs to get flying or a
complete overhaul.

If you are replacing the cylinders, I'd go with either ECI or Superior,
which ever is cheaper or easier to get. Continentals have been problematic
over the past 10 or so years and until I know they have worked the issues
out, I recommend against them.

We have engine miseries. It looks like a TOH is in order and after calling
a dozen different places and hearing two dozen different sets of pricings
and options; I ask this group: What's the best way to go about this, a
complete Continental kit, pieces and parts from here and there, rebuilt
cylinders, new cylinders, Millenium cylinders, ad nauseum..

Ideas and comments are definitely welcome.
