Fred, Personally, I would always prefer to have a fabric wing Coupe. The weight is less (up to 40 lb. difference for the pair) and the covering can be very smooth (I was often asked if my fabric wings were metalized).
Best of all, with fabric covered wings, the wing surface has been removed from time to time over the plane's long history and everything inside minutely inspected and repaired before recovering. I'd strongly urge you to NOT convert fabric covered wings to metalized. If you just have to have metalized, advertise that you'll trade freshly recovered (or naked) fabric wings for trade and I bet you'd get a deal. Reminder to everyone that the old archives are available and we are sending the new messages to the same archive service. (Sorry, but there was a glitch through the summer and several months of new-forum messages didn't get archived on the old service.) http://www.mail-archive.com/ercoupe-tech%40yahoogroups.com/ Ed Ed Burkhead http://edburkhead.com East Peoria, Illinois ed -at- edburkhead???.com (change -at- to @ and remove "???")
