Al has hit the nail on the head. But there's a third condition he didn't
mention.

If (and it's a big if) you can get the FAA to sign of on a form 337 to
install an actual O-200 engine without using the old convert-to-a-D O-200
STC, (maybe just using it as a reference for technical data) then you would
have an O-200 on your C model.

Get the paperwork signed off before you do anything else.

But, if you're talking about the O-200 crankshaft being installed in a C-85,
then you still legally have a C-85 in your legal C model.

Okay, let's look at thing logically, there may or may not be some footwork
needed.

I'm thinking that you're referring to the O-200 crank (etc.) STC for your
C85. If that's correct then you are not converting your 85 to a 200 so your
C model will stay intact because nothing in the STC requires the GW
increase.

If you're actually putting an O-200 into your Ercoupe and the STC says that
you need the GW increase, then you have to go back to the instructions for
converting the C to a D and comply with all of that, whatever it is. But
(and here's where this can get mighty interesting), if you can get to the
STC holder, see if you can use a lighter GW increase that is STC'd by Alpha
and contact Skyport for the 1320 (?) GW increase that will keep your coupe a
C.

Making any sense?
