I am nearing completion of the installation of my rudder pedals. I have one remaining problem associated with the foot brake. Having reassembled the critical seat and baggage compartment elements, I am now able to test the functionality of the rudder pedals. Unfortunately, I am not able to operate the right rudder pedal because of the interference of the foot brake. This is even before installing the foot brake pedal. The arm extending from the toe panel which actuates the brake master cylinder leaves at a 15 or 20 degree angle (if 90 degree orientation from the firewall is the reference point) toward the control column. It appears that if the brake pedal arm came out at a 90 degree angle with respect to the firewall, it would be nearly centered between the right and left rudder pedals. My suspicion is that the master cylinder is mounted incorrectly such that it is twisted slightly inboard blocking access to my right rudder pedal.
My question is: Is the proper alignment of the foot brake pedal arm at a 90 degree angle with respect to the firewall? Can anyone give me insight into how best to correct this misalignment? Thanks. Frank Nelson N51DV 415C TOA/California
