Thanks, Glenn. That has always been one approach. However, it would not allow you to easily return to a no-rudder pedal configuration without buying new/salvaged hardware. The instructions in the Ercoupe Memorandums actually states that the top arch of the pedal can be cut off and leave the pedal in place. My problem is more of the orientation of the pedal left-to-right on my Coupe such that it doesn't allow me to get at the right rudder pedal. Ordinarily the foot brake pedal would be between the two rudder pedals and out of the way. When you wanted to use it, you simply use the heal of your foot.
