Thanks, Al. Actually the manufacture does not say to remove the pedal. It says that the top arc of the pedal (the part your foot comes in contact with) is removed to allow clearance for the rudder pedals over the top of the foot brake pedal. Another alternate was suggested here that the pedal be turned upside down to accomplish the same thing. I agree with this approach. However, it is my clearance from right to left that I am worried about. No such issue is discussed in the manufacturer's documentation. That is why I suspect that my foot brake assembly is damaged or improperly installed.
