Hey Glen: Higher temps on #-1 and 2 would be a normal occurrence since they  
are located behind #-3 and 4. Another consideration could be the mixture is  
different (leaner) on those two cylinders. If you do not have any success  
finding cooling air leaks, you might want to try leaning just a touch. If #-3  
and 
4 temps rise quicker than #-1 and 2, the temp differential is more likely  
due to mixture differences.
    It is amazing what you can learn about these little  engines when you 
have all that fancy equipment isn't 
it? (grin)
