What if the gas can is sitting on the wing walk and you are using a shake-n-siphon to pump the fuel into the tank? Would you need a plastic to metal contact (no intervening paint or wing walk material) to get the two at the same electrical potential?
Maybe a ground strap with an allegator clip at both ends would work. Clip it to the spout of the gas can (again using the siphon to move the gas) and clip the other end to the exhaust. That seems very simple and cuts down on the labor of holding 30 lbs. of fuel while it sloshes into the wing tank.
