Lee,

The wing is designed such that there is always a portion that is not 
stalled given the limits of what the elevator can do. It does not 
seem likely that you could have actually entered a spin. Of course 
there must be some conditions where this is not true. Maybe if you 
are flying with a gross weight over that which the Coupe is 
certified? Maybe if there is damage to the control surfaces or very 
serious rigging problems? Maybe your up elevator limit is not within 
specification?

My instructor did everything he could think of to get my Ercoupe to 
spin and was not successful. I have never heard of anyone and have 
never read of anyone that was able to spin the Ercoupe.

You might get a pilot that has spin experience to try and spin it.
