It is a mystery and probably changes on an hourly basis (note the 
intended sarcasim). The FAA issued a list of certified aircraft the 
meeting the Light Sport Aircraft specifications.

I am not sure what document they used since there are numerous and 
conflicting documents for the Ercoupe/Aircoupe. If I had to guess, 
they used the type certification documents - A-718 and A-787.
