Guys,

I seldom step into these things but this time I need to.

How many insurance companies do you think are out there that know
what baffles a 60 plus year old plane came with? I would bet you
a quarter that there are not ten people living who could look at a
Coupe and tell you that was 100% factory or not.

In this line I got one , I need to tell you. An old guy in his
eighties failed a medial because of medicine he was taking. He
waited and went to another doctor. As required, he stated all
previous medical conditions disclosed. We all know how slow the FAA
is with paper work. Six months later the FAA wrote him and said you
are taking drug X and you must return your medial. His reply was you
have 60 days under Section 61.23 to change or revoke my medial. (See
back of your medical.) I am keeping it. He got away with doing this
two times before he withdraw himself from flying.

Maybe it is just an eastern thing, but we out west or more concerned
with is an aircraft safe to fly than is there a piece of paper that
says it is safe. Remember that the last AP who did the annual says
it is safe to fly with everything that has been done to it.

PS I am waiting for the flame to come.
