I know of one guy that got stiffed by the insurance co. It wasn't do to a mod though. He was flying an arrow and blew a jug off. He landed it on a golf course with no other damage. They said they don't cover engine failures. And told him he did too good a job. If he would have crashed it they would have had to pay off. So he got stuck paying for everything. And the dissassembly and trasport back to the airport.
