Get with a flexible IA who has a good relationship with the FSDO. Tell him you want to do the 1320# gross weight increase, making it aerodynamically the same as a "D" then use the STC to install the O200 in a D as acceptable data for a field approval. The FSDO will have to approve it by signing the proposed 337 in block 3. Then you are free to go ahead and install the engine. I can have a log book entry made changing it to a D then use your O-200 STC, and the next day make a log book entry changing it back to a C. I end up with an O-200 in a C and nobody wiser.
