Hartmut commented on the problem with tall pilots and leg room when you have
pedals.

 

Some replacement seat cushions are a lot thicker than the original cushions
I had in my Coupe. (And, maybe my cushions just had squished flat in the 30
years before I bought my plane.)  Having thinner cushions might minimize
this problem.

 

I've ridden in a couple of Coupes with such thick seat cushions I had to sit
with my neck bent all the flight to keep from having it rub the sliding
door/window overhead.

 

But, cramped legs is a main reason why I would not want pedals in a plane I
just used for fun.  But it didn't bother me so much that I bothered to have
them ripped out.
