OK.

I see your point.

Hartmut,

In the Sport pilot rule, and in the same paragraph as the 1320 weight
limitation ( and the "since its certification has continued to meet the
following":)

"(1) (ii) the 1320 weight restriction"

"(7)A fixed or ground adjustable propeller if a powered aircraft other than a
powered glider"

An aeromatic is neither a fixed or ground adjustable.

So adhering strictly to this rule, if a Coupe EVER had an aeromatic prop it can
never be a LSA.

One limitation carries the same weight as any other.

I don't agree and doubt it would come up but strickly speaking that is the
letter of the rule.

Sorry this was meant for Bill.

What makes you think so?
The aeromatic prop was certified for all 415 Models, including the C and the
C/D, does NOT disqualify an Ercoupe for the Sport Pilot class.

It is interesting to note that using the same logic, a C or CD Coupe that ever
had an aeromatic prop installed would no longer qualify

The rules are very clear today; the plane must have met ALL LSA standards since
its certification. If at any point it has been altered so it does not meet LSA
standards, it can NEVER go back and be "made into an LSA". I do look forward to
the progress made on FAA changes/clarification of the language though.
Personally, I think a D model could be a C so very easy, without changing the
plane. Same plane, just a different gross wt. Makes perfect sense to me, maybe
that is why the FAA doesnt see it that way*L
