I learned it in mech. school. Engines with pressure cowls us a spinner to get rid of the turbulance from the prop hub .Also the spinner is shown in the parts manuel it requires a 337 or an stc to remove, replace or modify since this would be part of the orig type cert.Glenn Putnam

Hi Glenn

I was wondering about that. Do you know that from something you read or first hand experience? If it was first hand experience, I would be interested to know the temperatures with the skull cap versus the conventional spinner.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the Skull Cap spinner is legal for use on an Ercoupe with a metal prop?

Thanks
