I am using the Voltage readout my Garmin is giving me. No extra holes in the dashboard, no extra wires and yet a digital Voltage display.
I think the ammeter is the best to show charge versus discharge. Especially the amount of the charge is important. If I see a reading of 5 to 10 Amps after 30 minutes of cruising, I know something is wrong. The Voltage readout does not give me that.
