Chris,

I've removed the bottom cowl numerous times on my 415C and it only takes 10
minutes.

Hey Chris: I replaced one years ago, and I do remember that it was not an easy
task, but as I recall, I did not have to remove the bottom cowl. It took a few
iterations to determine how to maneuver the muffler to get it out of the engine
mount, but I believe it can be done.

Last week (just before 4 perfect flying days), the exhaust pipe broke off at
the muffler. I got a replacement muffler from Skyport today, but my mechanic &
I are trying to figure out how to get the new muffler in place. We pulled the
right hand exhaust stack to get the old muffler out. We're hoping we don't have
to drop the bottom cowling to get the new one in.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance,
