Those tanks often crack around the rim. Small cracks can be brazed; larger ones should be welded (IMHO). When you reinstall it, be sure to shim the bracket on the fill neck with washers so there is no stress when the nuts are tightened. -- John Cooper Skyport East www.skyportservices.net
