If you use the STC it must be converted to a 415 D. There are a few 415 C models out there where the STC was used to show the airframe could handle a 0-200 engine. A 337 and a kind soul from the FAA to sign it and you have a 0-200 in a 415 C. Therefore, if you see an O-200 equipped Ercoupe advertised as an LSA eligible C or CD, it is highly likely the airplane is NOT LSA legal, because it would have been certified at 1400 lbs at some point in its life. Sounds to me like this Barnstormers guy is tired of scammers trying to sell non-LSA Ercoupes as LSA, and is issuing a buyer beware. --Lance N2273H --- In [email protected], "bbartsey" <bbart...@...> wrote: > > What is the deal with this announcement in Barnstormers? > Bart > > Ercoupe LSA Buyers Beware > ERCOUPE LSA BUYERS BEWARE • SPREAD THE WORD! • 0-200A conversions > (STC#SA2628WE) not approved for 415C or CD.
