Martin,

I've had the opposite happen to me so upgrading to 6.2 was a real bonus for
me.
I've never been able to fully trace why I had so much trouble with 6.1

Try reinstalling ER Mapper.
Make sure you are logged on as Administrator.

I have a suspicion that it is an Access violation error.
Something in the registry doesn't think ER Mapper should be accessing
whatever it needs.

(As an aside I also had 3 disk crashes before my current PC became stable
too).
Two of them were the Seagate 15,000 rpm SCSI drives. Maybe they were just
too state-of-the-art.
A lot of Access Violation errors were associated with that too).

You might be forced to deinstall before reinstalling but try it without
doing that first as their are license implications if you delete the
directories with the license info. ERM can give you more advice on this.

Good luck.

Lyle

Hello list,

After upgrading to ERM 6.2 on an NT4/SP6 system, I get a couple of 'blue
screens' a day, and the occasional 'freeze' when launching ERMapper. I do
not recall it ever happening when running 6.1.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Martin

Mike,

Thanks for the input. I mentioned the Z Scale for trouble shooting
purposes. I did notice that by changing the Z Scale it did not change the
elevation values in the cell coordinate view. I did check the elevations of
the examples/Functions_And_Features/3D/Landsat_over_DTM.alg, and I was
getting an elevation of 23 on the water.

Leo,
The cell values should not change with the Z scale.
I just tried it on examples/Functions_And_Features/3D/Landsat_over_DTM.alg
and it seemed to work correctly. The only things I can think of are that
the the current layer was changed in between swapping view modes, or maybe
something to do with the final transform.

Let me know if I have missed something, and/or you can get it to happen on
the alg quoted above (the water is a good bit to test).

cheers
Mike
