Alas, trajectory refinement really is better done from the ground, except
for the case where you're actually making rendezvous with the asteroid.
(Spacecraft tracking can be far more precise than any sort of astronomical
observations, but that's useful mainly if the spacecraft is actually
accompanying the asteroid.  The positional data you'd get from a flyby is
not that helpful -- ground-based radar will do better.)
