See it? You can buy it, if you have a couple million bux handy. Last I
heard, it was now routine in graduate level physics labs to detect an
object without any actual interaction -- using quantum entanglement to
detect if a photon that might have been directed in a particular
direction might have interacted with something, even though no photon
was actually routed that way. In at least one case I've read about,
this effect was used to measure the thickness of a human hair.
Did I say a couple million dollars? You can perform the simplest of
quantum entanglement experiments with a small gas laser (diode lasers
won't work, not enough coherence length), some trash bag plastic, and a
high school optics lab set that uses aluminum extrusions for an optical
bench. A sand table (for vibration isolation) is cheap, and the
equipment on it can cost less than $1000.
To me, that looks enough like magic to invoke Clarke's Law.
