I thought I'd remind everyone who reads the ERPS list but isn't local
to the SF Bay Area that ConJose, the 51st(?) World Science Fiction
Convention, starts on Thursday.
Every April about half the ERPS membership drops off line to attend
Space Access, and everyone wonders what happened to the ERPS list.
Well, from Thursday through Monday, almost all the ERPS membership
will be at WorldCon, and will be off line. Be not alarmed. We're
meeting and greeting and making deals.
Oh, and hosting a room party. Probably the only room party with an
honest to goodness rocket. :-)
WorldCon had asked XCOR to make a presentation, but then they wanted us to pay for our guest memberships. (WTF???) Not a good way to attract guests from a hungry but smart start-up. I'm still trying to get a free pass by trading a day or two of booth work with some other friends who will be there promoting their own con. I know it's a WorldCon, but the rates are just astronomical. ($200!!!!!!!!! holy cow batman!)
