They do exist; just down the hall here, there's an HP
DesignJet 1050c... takes 36" roll paper.  I don't know
if this one has the Postscript option installed, but
it's available (default language is PCL).

DesignJet 5000ps speaks Postscript, and takes 60" wide
paper.  Maybe not J size, but wallpaper size.  Heck, I
have enough trouble handling D-size prints.

I still miss the old 8-pen Zeta plotter, though I have to
admit the DesignJet is way faster, and the print quality
is a lot better.
