CFD is Computational Fluid Dynamics. The meshing that I need is actually very similar to what you are talking about, but the requirements are a little different. CFD is just one problem domain in Finite Element Analysis. Basically you break up the geometry into small "bricks" and do the basic calculations on each node of the brick. I've used fairly simple finite element meshing routines in a previous life, but they were commercial (read expensive), and not well suited to CFD. I'm really hoping to find one that can read the CAD files and generate a grid based on that. I'm not holding my breath though.
