The support structure that holds the plug in place will need
to be designed for mechanical trimming of the final clearance.
Final trim, and centering of the plug, can be checked with
feeler gauges.  And remember that the desired clearance is
at operating temperature, not cold on a machinist's bench.
The difference between hot and cold clearances will need to
be calculated and applied in advance.
