Some of the same principles apply, and they show up elsewhere as well.
When something has a limited life, yes, you can use up its useful life in
testing and thus have it fail in flight.  (Now, mind you, you may not
*know* it had a limited life, and you might not have *intended* it to have
a limited life, but those are different issues.)  Even RLV components
often will have finite working lives; many aircraft components do, as
do most modern whole aircraft.
