NASA did some studies, way back when.  Turns out the tipping point (or
whatever you want to call it) is about $40,000/person.  Of course, this
was in 1980s (1970s?) dollars, but that's still less than $400,000.  The
main difference between a house and a trip to orbit is that you keep the
house, year after year - unless you're moving to orbit for the long
term, which isn't tourism.
