The other thought that keeps running through my mind, as I drove home this
afternoon, that I could not fit into my other somewhat emotional post was
re entry modes.

Vehicals of the DCX or Pogo class, have to cary enough fuel for re-entry
right? That they use the thrust to counteract the gravitational returns?

I have never liked ablative methods. Yet they seem to be the best.
Interesting that here 35 years later we have made so little progress.

And I was at Edwards to watch the origional re-entry. If anything I was
shoked that Columbia was not in the air and space museum or a lawn orniment
in Huston. It was wierd to tell my parents this was the same shuttle we saw
land back in the early 80s.

At least paramount was smart enough to cut from one of the Star Trek films,
Shatner parafoiling in from space. Now where did I put my copy of "Dark
Star?"

Planet surfing anyone?
