That's because taxpaying folks have figured out that NASA has decided that THEY CAN'T GO. As Tom Rogers has said many times: "NASA had the American people's good will and threw it away [by not helping to nurture commercial space transportation the way commercial flight was nurtured]; and everyone now at NASA doesn't understand that the Apollo program is over to sixteen decimal places." Which is why the small privately funded new starts are getting a lot of friendly interest from just plain folks. And a few reporters have also figured it out: we're building stuff that will let the hoi polloi BUY A RIDE TO SPACE.

Gosh, what a concept.
