Well, it _almost_ goes away for engines in the CG plane... I think 
there would still be a slight lateral force, but not the yaw/pitch 
torque that would occur with base-mounted engines.

(A ring of 8 engines, with 2 oppositely-canted units at 
each "corner", would allow roll control to be much more 
independent of yaw-pitch operations.)
