Now, now. Be nice.
The land-on-three-engines scenario was never taken all that seriously.
It required RCS, and if you have RCS, it makes more sense to throttle
the opposite engine down but not off, and counter its torque with the
RCS. This gives you more total thrust and a higher likelihood of
survival.
However, as someone has pointed out, Armadillo has done a marvelous
job of demonstrating that engine problems aren't the catastrophic
ones. Engine problems tend to just waste propellant; it's the
electrical and electronics problems that make you crash.
