ERPS meeting #293 commenced at 8:07 PM. As the usual Secretary was not present, an alternate volunteered to take notes. Members Eversole, Nordley, Porter, Tymes, and Wallis present.
The August board meeting did not happen, so it shall be combined with the next board meeting. This shall be on November 5, 2004, and is to be an open meeting: anyone can come. The Space Access newsletter recently issues advised US citizens to lobby their congresspeople to pass HR3752, with the safety language amended out. The reccomended format is physical/paper/postal mail, not email or fax or any other means, now that the anthrax scare has passed. At least one member has been advised by Congressional staff that 10,000 physical letters could get law changed, and this effort merely seeks to restore and pass a bill that had majority support anyway. Treasurer's report: we need money, specifically somewhere around our $12,000 annual budget. (This figure specifically approved by the Treasurer for release via the minutes.) Also, the saga of the robot arm continues: anyone who could introduce ERPS to someone willing to buy the robot arm in ERPS's possession would, if the sale actually goes through, help ERPS to gain several thousand dollars, probably a majority of our current financial needs. We would like a detailed report from our members who went to Space Frontier. ERPS is proud that the Gizmocopter team got Gizmocopter to flip, since this allows testing and debugging of the software - Gizmocopter's original purpose. As was said at the meeting, "Failure is not an option, it's a requirement." XCOR is making progress in pump fed systems, as previously reported to the list. Mr. Wallis will not go to the next COMSTAC, and asked if anyone else is going. Meeting adjourned at 8:27 PM, with time out for a phone call interruption. These minutes respectfully submitted. Please provide corrections via the list. _______________________________________________ ERPS-list mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.erps.org/mailman/listinfo/erps-list
