A thought- even if the power isn't enough to fly, can you try picking it up and moving it in various axes to see if the motor speeds respond in a reasonable fashion? If it tried to turn hard when held level, or turns _with_ a pitch or roll forced by hand, that could be a sign of crossed commands or sensors. It should feel "live" in your hand, seeking level...
