Ideas? How can we build on this? Do we want to?

Well, if you know squeak, there's something very neat regarding how it handles projects; each project is contained into a window, when you click one it zoom in to fill the entire screen. Quite cool. Each project thus got the full screen and you can have any applications running inside. We could perhaps try something like that ?

That's exactly what I was thinking of!

I'm actually working on a Flash mockup right now!

;-)

I started to think a bit about how we can handle that ... we could have a window manager that just manage virtual workspace like that; and the session manager will also be the "project manager" and in charge of restauring the projects when opened (ie when you log on, no projects is launched, you just have the miniatures; when clicking on one project, it creates a virtual desktop and launch the applications if needed, with the right documents, etc. Obviously for Squeak doing that is easier, as everything is kept in the image..)

It seems to be a bit difficult to do properly, and gnustep apps don't behave all that perfectly with virtual desktop (focus issues..), but effectively I think this idea is worth the trouble.. I know I enjoy it in Squeak, and if we could have it in étoilé, that would be really, really cool.
