Well, if you know squeak, there's something very neat regarding how it handles projects; each project is contained into a window, when you click one it zoom in to fill the entire screen. Quite cool. Each project thus got the full screen and you can have any applications running inside. We could perhaps try something like that ?

That's exactly what I was thinking of!

I still need to add a bunch of stuff -- you can't launch and view documents yet, or make annotations, but this is kind of what I'm thinking of. Ignore how poorly the '+' buttons work according to Fitt's Law -- it would be much better thought out in the actual implementation.

Oh, something else that's not present -- I think we would need some type of task bar or something which would hold info that should be accessible no matter what project you're working in, such as a clock, a music player, etc, etc. I don't know where this would go yet, but keep in mind that it would be ever present.
