I think something is fundementally wrong in your system. Are you able to launch any regular GNUstep application ? Like Typewriter or Sketch ? Did you have latest stable GNUstep release ? (Make 2.0, Base 1.14 and GUI/Back 0.12). You can run them in WindowMaker and see.
