Again, if you believe the "only buy discs from Japan" argument, I'll send you a scan of the Fuji label I have that says "Made in Taiwan." Like I said, ValueDiscs are made in Japan and I'm not buying those anytime soon. As far as I know, TYs use the distinctive off-yellow nut on their spindles. Just look for that. The "don't buy discs from (insert country name here)" argument doesn't make sense.
The program referred to is CDR Identifier (http://www.gum.de/cdrid/). It reads the ATIP information from blanks CDs. Beware! Even THAT information can be false. So what do to? Use what works best for you. Personally I use Sonys, TDKs, HP, Kodak, and Fujis. If you've always used Maxells and had no problems, burn on! But you may want to keep a spindle of Fujis handy (made in Japan...God forbid they say made in Taiwan!) for trades for those anal about their discs. The debate goes on... WOB: If you feel the need, contact me off list and I'll square you away.
