I'm glad you said that, not me ;-)

But how in the heck is

From the etree.org mailing list pages:

"we will attempt to moderate for unintelligent posts rather than
off-topic posts."

I found this thread interesting and amusing. I thought it was
refreshing to hear some personal anecdotes from people on the etree lists.

And fwiw, I think the moderator made an error when he squashed this
thread. After all, what is etree but a _community_ of people who share
an interest in music and wish to gather and spread that music? We
invite each other into our homes and our offices when we allow each
other to download shns via ftp. And you guys are trying to tell us we
can't talk to each other about things that are interesting but not
entirely related to music?

BTW, I also have a lot of respect from brothercrow, who, in my
experience, has never been anything but level-headed and kind.

Haleluiah! Finally some posts that don't have an ISO or request for
help--simple conversation! Woohoo! Reminds me of the good ol' days on
etree...

I think you need to read the mailing list pages on etree.org.
You _completely_ misunderstand this WOB thing, based on what you wrote.
It's very simple, actually. If you ASK FOR SOMETHING, YOU OWE A WOB
TAX. If you simply have some thoughts to share, you owe nothing.

Come on. I hate

Really? That's not the impression I get.

Please--and this is for the moderators and the self-appointed naysayers--

understand the etree.org discussion list policy and the spirit of that
policy before squelching conversation on the DISCUSSION list.

Now, please don't email me saying "Where's your WOB tax?"
There is none. I don't owe one. This is on-topic and I'm not asking
for anything. And please don't take this as a flame. I am simply
offering a contrary opinion that I think is a lot closer to what this
list is intended to be. If I sound a little abrupt, it's only because I
wonder how many times and how many people have to explain the whole
on-topic off-topic thing and the wob tax. I thought Wilbur definitely
explained it a couple months ago...I guess not :-(

Peace,
Jeff
