OK... I will try to throw my 2 cents in ... MP3s, a compressed file mode, is so much hated because it introduces some loss in the original file.... BUT I have heard and I have seen files with high bitrate which sound better than their SHN counterparts... someone will say ok, you should compare the 2 sources and check them to see which one sounds better... and that is the catch, most of us cannot do that.... well, all in all, MP3s are much better than SHN because they do not fail md5 transfer checks basically because they are smaller and easier to d4l than SHNs by a factor of around 10... that might be a point for some slow connection pcs.... anyway I will not take a MP3 instead of a SHN, but when I want something and all I have is a MP3 I will not refuse it either... and I have had pleasant surprises with them (and some unpleasant too....) by the way I would like to know if anyone has ever had problems with virus in music files and if so, did they a preference for any format ? all the best, keep on surfing.... orion@bhz, brazil
