I recently built a coupla machines for work with components I bought from a place in
Bellevue called computerstop (www.computerstop.com). I got an Asus P5A motherboard,
K6-2 500, Asus 50x CD-ROM, 17 GB Fujitisu HDD, ATI Rage Pro 8MB video, 128 MB RAM, and
Soundblaster PCI sound card for $610-- a decent office machine for the $. Maybe a bit
more than Fry's, but I'm supporting an independent business without having to give
money to the leeches (Stan excepted, of course) who sell components in this town.

I had it 4 days after ordering, and didn't have to drive to Wilsonville. If something
arrives broken, I don't have to drive back to Wilsonville, and my experience is that
an inordinately large amount of stuff from Fry's is broken out-of-the-box. My other
problem with Fry's is that they treat their employees like sh*t.

Just my highly-biased .02,
Dennis

Q: Why do all modern computers have a reset button?
A: Because the manufacturers assume that they will all be running
software built by Microsoft (or Apple-- hey, let's be fair here).
