There were about 25 people.
There were a 6 computer being worked on.
There were a lot of new faces. If you weren't at the meeting you could have
met Bob Miller <kbob> and his wife. Now Bob can associate all the names with
the people.
Bob and his wife were working on a wireless network. I believe it was an apple
airport device which reminded me of a big mushroom. They were checking their
e-mail with a fast connection.
Seth found on the web how to program mike's phone to play a Russian song. So
now Mike has on his phone e-mail, web surfing and a Russian song. How happy
can he be. If his cell phone could morph into a fly fishing rod he'd have it
all. Who knows Mike might have a little caddy for his phone on his fly
fisherman pole. He'll use the Russian music to lure the fish.
Cory was working on trying to block banner ads. I know Seth helped him. I
don't know if he got it working. I'm sure there are others who wouldn't mind
trying this. He had this some great background. He told me the web site.

There are some beautiful backgrounds. Check out the site. If you have a site
with similar pictures post the address. Thanks Cory
Dave a friend of mine was there when I got there. Some of you met him. He's
working on Linux from Scratch.

Read the introduction it sounds interesting. He's learning how linux works.
I brought my system in because my sound card didn't work. Cory helped me with
getting it going. I think I installed alsa when I had the sound card going
and this broke the sound configuration. He was able to fix it though. He
also made my bash shell color. So now when I list my files the directories are
one color and jpegs are another and html are another. A very nice feature.
Cory explained why and what he was doing. I learned a little more about Linux.
Neil helped a little and taught both Cory and I a few things.
Randolph was there. He always has some good input but I missed it. I was
working on my system.
Jamie worked on his system. He had his pet lizard.
There were some new faces. I hope some of you were able to talk with them and
find out what their needs were.
Are we going to do a demo day anytime soon? If the new kernel comes out
within the next 6 months we should consider it. It would be great if we
could target some businesses and possible get someone from One of the Major
Distribution to come and assist.
It was a pretty early night.
