Open source movement members are generally proud of not using any
pirated software. But it's arguable that a wireless network like this
constitutes bandwidth piracy. ISPs pay for data by the megabyte while only
charging their clients for static bandwidth. They lease the bandwidth out
under the assumption that people aren't going to do this kind of thing
with it.
"So what? It's their fault for not making subscribers sign a prenuptial
agreement and hence their problem." -- Mr. D. Advocate
Only partly true. If we make broadband leasing unprofitable, it will be
everyone's problem.
