my vote is for revamping the website (which we are planning on doing
anyway) but keeping an appropriate mixture of references to  
("linux"|"GNU/Linux") depending on who writes what.

I'll volunteer to write an article on the etymology and such of the
various OS's we use. Which will include the background of this debate.
