Confused: isn't the linux workstation the ideal network printserver? Why would you buy something else, unless you didn't want to rely on the workstation for that purpose, of course... ? I use a HP LaserJet 4050N here at the office, and am lucky 'cuz it is network-connected with its own ether. Sorry no help there, but I can attest to the good and proper functionality of jetdirect protocol support when printing from linux...
