A protest *against* the war, I presume... I also presume that no-one around here is protesting *for* the war... is that correct? I can't say that I'd expect anyone to speak up about that, actually. Funny how the Freedoms we're trying to protect are sort of slanted. Anyway, I'm not looking for the activism list, but just have to wonder, at the assumptions I so often hear from my community -- things to the extent that "everyone knows how stupid this situation is" when in fact I cannot tell what is more stupid, the ineffectual-blowhard aspect of our usual "protests" or war-mongering cowboys... I'm all for the freedom to speak my mind, and enjoy hearing the results of others doing the same... but garsh, have you seen all the "stay home sick when war starts" pamphlets?? What's up with that, do people just need an excuse to cut out on their daily routines or what? This certainly is an exciting time, and I hope my own confusion doesn't light any short fuses... please, people; think good thoughts and TRY to smile. The world might be a mess but we've all got to stick to being who we are, and doing what we do, and not get terribly caught-up in fussing about ... errr, you know. Fuss in a useful way, if you can = ) Ciao!
Ben B PS - The thing I wonder most, as I follow the War, is how different the news will be in retrospect; how much this War is scripted and by whom... hopefully the media has a chance to give truly impartial reporting!
